MBBS Diaries: A Journey beyond the clinics and classroom and experiences in Germany
The program was held on 12.12.2019 in the AV hall, SDUMC, Kolar between 10 am to 1 pm for
MBBS and Allied Health Sciences students and Ph. D scholars.
Master of Ceremony was Dr. Ashwini NS, Deputy Coordinator, R & I, Mr. Bhuneshwar and
Mrs. Sai Deepika R, Ph. D Scholars Dept. of Biochemistry.
The inauguration program began with an invocation prayer by Mrs. Kalavathi, Computer Operator,
Department of Oncology. This was followed by welcome address and introduction of guest
speaker by Dr. Shashidhar. K.N, Director R & I. The opening remarks were given by our
Honorable Vice- Chancellor Dr. Pradeep Kumar G.
The Program was inaugurated by watering the plant by dignitaries Dr. Pradeep Kumar G,
Honorable Vice- Chancellor, Dr. K. N. V. Prasad Registrar, Principal Dr. Sreeramulu. P.N,
Dr. Shashidhar. K.N, Director R &I and Vice-Principal, Dr. Lakshmaiah V, Medical
Superintendent and Resource Person: Dr. Partha Dabke.
Profile Summary of the Resource Person
Dr. Partha Dabke is a PhD scholar at Clinic for Pediatric Kidney, Liver & Metabolic Diseases and
Hannover Medical School (MHH), Hannover, Germany .He did his M.B.B.S. (Bachelor of
Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) graduation from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy
of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal, India (2010 – 2016). His keen interest was towards
His major strengths are a fellow with 3 months internship in Dept. of Pediatrics in Ludwig
Maximilian University (LMU), Munich, Germany (2015). He is also a joint fellow to attend the
64th Nobel Laureate Meeting on Physiology/Medicine in Lindau, Germany (2014) and a 3-time
recipient of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Short Term Studentship (STS) national
research grant (2011, 2012 & 2013).
The session by Dr. Partha Dabke was highly informative and interactive that facilitated the
participation of the students. Dr. Partha Dabke informed the students the pitfalls of research and
benefits of overcoming these obstacles. His motivational speech was beyond the curriculum. The
student feedback was very positive and requested for more sessions in near future.
The concluding remark was by Dr. Shashidhar. K.N; followed by valedictory function and
awarding of certificate of appreciation to the Guest speaker Dr. Partha Dabke by our Honorable
Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pradeep Kumar. G, Registrar Dr. K. N. V. Prasad, Principal
