Report on Guest lecture on “Cyber Crime- Unravel the Mystery
Guest lecture on was conducted “Cyber Crime- Unravel the Mystery” by Department of Research & Innovation on 14.2.2020 in the PG Auditorium between 11.30 AM to 1.30 PM for the teaching faculty, Ph. D scholars, interns, UG and PG students of Faculty of Medicine & Faculty of AH & BS, nursing students and non-teaching staff of the Academy.
Master of Ceremony was Dr. Ashwini. N. S, Deputy Coordinator of Department of Research & Innovation.
The inauguration program began with an invocation prayer by Mrs. Suma, Computer Operator, Department of R&I, followed by welcome address and introduction of guest speaker by Dr. Shashidhar. K.N, Director, Department of R & I. The opening remarks were given by Dr. Pradeep Kumar G Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, of our Academy.

Profile Summary of the Resource Person
Sri. Krishna Sastry Pendyala, Executive Director, Advisory, Forensic Technology Services, PwC India with an experience of 23 years with Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India as Forensic Scientist, has handled a large number of sensational Cyber Investigations of national and international importance. He has also served 3.5 years with Tata Consultancy Services as Global Head, Fraud Management & Digital Forensics.
He has examined more than 1400 cases involving digital evidence. His core area of expertise includes cyber security breach/ compromise assessment, red teaming exercise, off-line & online Digital Forensic investigations, Cyber security breach investigation, Incident response Management, Malware analysis and e-discovery.
His major laudable achievements are, he is an ISO Lead Auditor, (CISM), (CCNA), Certified Hacking & Forensic Investigator (CHFI), DNV Certified Vulnerability Assessor, INTERPOL certified “Train the Trainer” in the field of Computer Forensics. He is a Project Leader and Steering Group member for several Ministry of Home Affairs & Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Govt. of India. Through INTERPOL General Secretariat, Lyons & national central bureau (INTERPOL) India, he was a subject matter expert trained in Law Enforcement officials of more than 95 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa and Pacific regions. He was conferred with many Awards from Government of India vis-à-vis “Union Home Minister Award for Meritorious Service” in the year 2004 and Directorate of Forensic Science, Ministry of Home affairs award. He has co-authored the first Indian book on Cyber Crimes & Forensics titled “Computer Crimes and Forensics in 2001”
The session by Sri Krishna Sastry Pendyala concentrated mainly on Cybercrimes, cyber threats and cyber security. Objective of the program was to raise awareness among the Faculty, Teaching and Non-Teaching and Students mainly to educate on how e- information can be hacked. Program also included the interactive session with the participants.
Conclusive remark was by Dr. Pradeep Kumar G; followed by valedictory function and issue of certificate of appreciation to the Guest speaker Sri Krishna Sastry Pendyala by our Respected Secretary of our Trust Sri G.H. Nagaraja , Dr. Pradeep Kumar. G, Dr. K. N. V. Prasad, Dr. Sreeramulu.P.N and Dr. Shashidhar.K.N.
